Hi friend, can you recommend me a title that has a MC/s that connect well to the reader? I want to read "omniscient reader's viewpoint" but it is so mainstream that I am afraid it will bore me and let me down. sorry for bad English.
hmm, orv is, i dont really have the opinion of the manhwa because i never read them aside from the first few chapters, but it should be exciting and full of action perhaps, not to mention it's done by redice which are known to often change some story details of their webtoon to fit the shounen-y genre, i never read the manga but i did finish the novel, it was kinda decent but i find some chapters as slog to go through, depends on your preference you might really like or hate the mc, i personally dislike him because he has so much nonsense inner monologue which makes reading a chore.
You can try the webtoon tho, it being mainstream doesn't automatically mean it's shit, ORV story alone should be some tiers above the likes of Solo Levelling
As for the suggestions, i don't know what i can suggest you, especially the part where it connects with the reader.. and it seems that my comment actually created misunderstanding, this manhwa lacks the established rules at the beginning, most story needs to establish a good suspension of disbelief at first, all we have were just the fact the mc was a rebel, he got busted, the big evil comes to destroy him, and he head to a battle royale.
We do have some glimpse that the world was under some dictatorship regime, and we all know that mc is a stylish fighter.
But what left me in dissatisfaction was the fact that we have no established baseline on how the world should work here, it's as if the solution of all things was to win this battle royale, no question asked.
Why was mc that hopeless for his revenge, how did mc even think that the battle royale was a good idea, does the mc even have a plan after he get in to this battle royale? does he even know where his enemies are? does mc think that he can get a 'revenge pick ticket' if he somehow finishes this battle royale?, does he not think his wish might actually went out the window the moment he enters this strange battle royale game? does the battle royale not enacted by the regime? is it a fair game? how does this strange dystopian world works? and many more questions.
I cant understand the mc's logic, wife dead, go to battle royale game for revenge.
If this series was based on a novel, i might really need to read that, because this series really lacks the foundational information so we can follow mc's logic on doing things.
Now after writing this, i think i can try suggesting you a title, try reading soloist in a cage/ori no naka soloist, it's on mangadex i think.
