Just a follow up on Prince of Lanling. The tragedy here is that his cousin Gao Wei became emperor and was paranoid that the prince was out to take the throne. So the emperor eventually killed the prince by poisoning his wine in 573 A.D. In 577 A.D. Northern Qi was over run by Northern Zhou and everyone in the Gao royal family was killed. Thus ending the Gao family and an entire country because the emperor was a paranoid nutcase.
