"Do you agree or not agree?" That is a loaded dichotomy. From the outset all actions done by Daxia were legitimized by the fact that the adversary is a strawman of a strawman of a concept. Unquestionably evil and inhumane to the core of each and every single individual. One-dimensional caricatures do not constitute a valid argument for anything and THIS is the ultimate discriminatory line:
- either you treat this as a piece of quality comeuppance fiction (dialed up to 11 and then some) - thus you reject the validity of any political discourse that is touched upon in the work
- or you treat it as a discourse against capitalism/imperialism - and then you reject the absolutely cartoonish representation of said systems/philosophies as well as the apologetic depiction of communist concepts
If you reject both - why would you even read this? If you accept both - you have been swayed by propaganda. There is valid criticism and valid praise towards the aforementioned concepts buried deep within here - but it's covered with so many layers of straw it hardly counts as anything. In the fiction's model of reality - I support Daxia wholeheartedly and want to see more human paintings by our glorious leader Mao. Where it crosses into political discourse - I recognize it as drawing untrustworthy conclusions from false premises. Does that answer your question?

I'll put it concisely, as I ultimately agree with you: Communism is by far the BEST system invented, but it does not scale at all. Any commune of more than 30-50 people already has more problems than it can handle. Do note for example, that fundamentally the concept of an extended family unit is a commune and it worked quite allright for humanity for millenia. It is when it is extended beyond your immediate relatives where it breaks... immediately (for purely evolutionary reasons no less).
