Glad you noticed that. One of Layla’s problems is that she’s way too into comedy, so she’ll do anything for the bit—especially when she’s in her energetic or “attack” mode. Good thing her tongue saved her this time, but who knows—maybe in the future she’ll screw things up. And like you said, they change tune fast

Mia either knows that Layla is just messing around, or she’s just into it—but she’s definitely not scared of her. And if you’re talking about the Black girl in this chapter, her name is Tova. I just try not to give too many side characters names so I don’t overwhelm the reader with too many to remember. Plus, it feels more natural this way
