I'm just curious, is the dialogue meant to be so…contemporary?
for two Otaku in their 30's? I could see it honestly, and considering the translator's other series doesn't have this kind of dialog (considering the reincarnated MC was older and generally more serious than these two goofballs), I'd think at best it's accurate, at worst it's being localized to turn the references more recognizable for western readers, and considering we've seen Dragon Quest be mentioned more than once I think it's the first option (since DQ tends to be more niche for us compared to the big FF)

I don't mind either way, I'm just not used to a fan translation being more colorful than the official lol

You saw it here first, folks. Maybe in a decade or two, it'll be another tired isekai trope, but this is the first time I've ever seen stercus ex machina as a plot device. :kek:

So, any bets on the magic incantations? I'd say either they are from an eroge or some (possibly mahou) shoujo game. To him the latter would probably be more embarrassing.

Shitcalibur
I'd have gone with Poopcalibur, but yeah.
