Isekai Arigatou - Ch. 42 - The Song and The Mermaid ④

[Claith]

That concept of the three middle-aged Americans who were filming a reality TV show when they get isekaid is incredible. I hope they really show up as characters in this at some point.

Didn't catch that note, but that sounds like fun since I'm still a fan of the movie Tropic Thunder.

Wtf is this song?

ikr i was expecting something sung on a holiday like jingle bells or religiously like kumbaya.

So can we count this as Shiina finally getting a win? Poor guy deserves it at this point.

Wtf is this song?

A legitimately good choice - your grandpa probably liked this one.
Famous both natively JPN and abroad, folks during Japan's westernization period in the 60s brought it back to their home countries where it saw a good bit of success too - kinda carried that national spirit of 'we're not what we were but we're still looking out to the future'. Simple & internationally relatable lyrics and a hopeful folksy vibe, it's the sort of globally-sung but still inherently japanese group song that'd hit max values for this specific isekaijin usecase.

(I also really like that they only reveal it at the very end - at least for me made for a bit of frission, what with aura imagination suddenly becoming super vivid. Worked on reading both the OG release and this one, unexpectedly human moment)

thanks for the chapter
i am happy shiina has such a nice big moment to shinne

[LupusVir]

I was hoping it was something I already knew.

I've already read all of these chapters so haven't been keeping up, having read on the official site, but man I never knew there was all of these extra's!

Also, this here? This is what made this whole series for me. For all the pain and suffering they face, there is just genuinely beautiful moments like this. A series that isn't afraid to make people suffer, but will show hope as well.
