I know torture isn't really the best way to get information, but when you're that much pressed for time, with that many lives at risk and such a self-admitted scumbag mass-murderer, what else can you do?

I think he is just impressed as to how easily she can do these things without any hesitation. Normally most would be hesitant to do most of what she does. Also, this kind of torture isn't the best for getting information quickly. The "victim" knows that it wont last since potion supply is limited. Torture in general is iffy at best, but since this is a manga, it will work perfectly. I bet if MC just asks the wind spirit to do a wide range scan, or maybe do some laps of the area around the town with his strengthened body, or even just send an emergency request to the guild requesting mandatory participation for goblin subjugation/town defense, they would find the goblins.
