I find it amazing yet not surprising that people think meat that is medium rare to rare is better then a well done steak(unless you just prefer the taste of blood). Having tried a number of them and having cooked them myself for years, there is one thing ive noticed, most people are entirely unable to cook a well done steak properly and as a result they come out dry and tough, so people tend to prefer it not well done so as to not risk it becoming dry or tough. Its not surprising though, why risk ruining a steak to make it well done when the only well done ones they ever had were awful.
