It also means that there are no competing claims to the land that would imperil their ability to claim ownership. Any land next to the Royal Capital has to be governed/owned/controlled by the King/Royal Family. The further out they are, the less they have to worry about it. Also better roads mean it's easier for monsters to get in, and for the human monsters, tax collectors to try to evict them.

I'm guessing someone(s) had a bigger (standard sized Chapter 11 Page 11, Tatami Mat Size, 3' by 6') Inventory Skill and helped move it (Possibly even the mom). Or it could have been Human Wave Tactics, since it was their Winter Money. The Entire Village could have chipped in to get it to market, at least off the mountain itself.
My guess is they are mostly self-sufficient and only need a few staples from town like milled flour or raw materials like iron / steel. As for the remoteness of their settlement, they are a minority group who are discriminated against because of their skill. So look back on how people first treated Miyabi, Karen and the wall repair crews and it becomes more understandable why they would remove themselves from the capital.

As others have stated, they all have personal inventories. So it wouldnt be any more difficult then walking down the mountain. Or just build a simple crane or zipline to lower down off the mountain.
Yeah, but there's away from the capital and then there's this :lol:
Ah, I forgot that they would also have inventories too!
I imagine they had a few carriers through the pass and the cart itself is lower and safer down the mountain.
Yeah, they'd have to have help to get it all down.
I suppose they could leave the cart down there, though who knows how long it would last left alone like that.

Yeah, the issue is that Karen's is/was undeveloped. So it's currently unknown what kind of inventory skill the others have. At the beginning of her internship with Miyabi, she said she could carry 2 weeks of lunchboxes with her. After 2 months it doubled and became a Month of lunches (Ch 33 Page 16). Considering how young she is, I would guess the adults have bigger ones. Nothing on the scale of Miyabi. But all they really need are like 4-5 people with normal Inventory skills (Assuming she hadn't sold any carrots yet, Ch 26 shows they have ~14 crates of carrots), and you could transport the crops and the disassembled cart. All we saw in the original chapter was the mom, and one of her kids. There is also a chance that she had traveled with some other villagers as guards, and they just weren't there to intervene with the greedy merchant.

I'm not meaning a fully free road, but SOMETHING more than a crumbly ledge you gotta flatten against the wall for!!
NGL, it was my first thought too as I was reading the chapter, but after finding out who and what was at the top of the but plateau, it was easier to understand why there wouldn't.

Would be funny though if they had a hidden alternate route that the villagers used, that the one shown to Miyabi and co was for guests.

..No, you keep treating this as the villagers doing this. I have been talking about MIYABI doing this from the very beginning. Just like when he dug that tunnel.

O . o;

While I do agree Miyabi is the type to just do things like improve a road without prompting, he is also the type to blindly follow along unless asked to do otherwise

So if Karen as their guide takes this obstacle course of a trail as if it was normal, Miyabi would just follow along without comment.

That being said, this is a village of crafters. If they really wanted to make a safer road they would have had the skills to do so. Sure it might not have been all that pretty, but they as a people have been working the walls of major cities for most of their existence.
