So I like this story a lot, but, the trope of "Superior Japanese Food" has to be the most irritating food related tropes in the history of media. I know that everybody's tastes are different, but I definitely, definitely, not in a million years would consider Japanese food to be superior to Western food. Just to state it, I'm somebody who likes foreign food quite a lot.

@IlaiaCorde Well she's making pasta so she must like some western food. I think the friend from chapter 1 was just complaining about British food and their water being filled with minerals (both are also annoying tropes).

@JutlandAngel To be fair, most standard British foods are considered bland by many, including actual British people. In the comments of chapter 1, for instance, most were annoyed by the trope, but agreed that British food isn't great.
It's definitely a trope, but there's at least some truth to it.

Eeeeeh so we are supposed to this world has no good tasting food, never heard of anything food wise but is this advanced tech wise? Yeah I don't buy it. This is just straight up Japanese nationalism in full display here to the detriment of the story.

I think whats annoying me here isn't the trope of "superior Japanese food" per se, I mean it's fairly natural she may dislike another cusine and would want to replicate her Japanese dishes.
What is bothering me, is how directly insulting it is to the other cusine. Her reaction is actual disgust about it, this would be much more readable if it was more of a "this food is kinda nice, but I miss my old food, let me show you that", more of an cultural exchange than... yea, total superiority.

the worst part about the ‘Europeanesque fantasy medieval food is garbage and I can fix it’ trope in isekais is not that medieval European food would be hard on a modern palate but that medieval-era Japanese food was some of the worst on Earth

This one is weak as fuck. “It’s good!” I will give it a chance until Chapter 5 if it doesn’t do any better I’m dropping.
