I really tire of seeing all those cooking isekai, when the other chefs are always completely incompetent to the point of not even recognizing "burnt" and "raw in the middle". How the hell is it possible for someone to work as the royal head chef, to not cook better than a simple villager who legitimetaly has a reason not to have learnt better.
I'd be okay if their weakness was old recipes, or just oily stuff since that used to be what cooking was like. But seriously, I'm pretty sure even the roman knew how to cook meat without wasting it like that.

yeeeea don;t think i can cook bread with my rice cooker. it's so cheap it's only got "Cook" and "Warm" and the button doesn't even pop the lid open up; it just does a lil 2cm hop like a sack of rocks

@Doenyon I mean, you say that. But there have been accounts of aristocrats who were given green tea for the first time, and tried to eat the leaves and dumped all the water away. Of course, I'm pretty sure a character earlier mentioned how this country of renowned for its food culture, so I would expect something better for this guy's signature dish.

@Aretheus sure, but that guy with the green tea was it's first time, I mean who in their right mind would even put leaves in freaking boiling water, then had a "cloud" of milk ? Except the british, those weird people :D
Also, how far must their tastebuds be gone for raw/burnt, not to register as a failed dish ? Does that mean they are used to make it like that, and never ever have they done it properly even on accident, and thought "hey, it doesn't suck ass". :D
