So the common theme seems to be that the world is kinda stuck in a limbo; there's barely any change or progress and those in power are reluctant to change either due to reasons external and internal.

Then comes MC who essentially convinces them to change. And you find out that these people can in fact change things, easily too. They just lacked the motivation and push.
