I do love that prostitution part. The story even points out that prostitution is only very rarely something a woman wants to do... and then proceeds to affirm the whole business. Great, they are treated slightly better... and the profession also starts to get treated as something is anything but barely hidden sexual slavery. That is not a good thing.

It also has a certain feeling of picking up girls in a dungeon hypocrisy. Oh yes, there is nothing wrong with being a prostitute, you shouldn't judge her for it in any way... of course only as long they are not a proper love interest for anyone important.

Anyway, I hate it when stories try to make light of prostitution as something ''That just another job''. No, it is fucking not, look at literally any proper inquiry made into it, no matter which country and you will see that it is nothing but slavery in all but name for most prostitutes.

Some guy is broadcasting his inane opinions to everyone, via devices that they normally can't really use since broadcasting is impossible -- and for some reason, just by talking about the most boring shit ever, he built up a loyal fanbase of crazy sexed up women?

And it's not just that, the guy is a template of "I have infinite power, but don't use it to do anything interesting, I actually view it as a problem since it'd make me stand out!"

Close, but I would say that this is what Shadow would end up as if the world itself didn't feed his delusions.

The whole joke about Eminence in Shadows is how every single random piece of background he makes up actually turns out true. "There is a cult that wants to revive the demon", "there is a secret base there" then throws a dagger at random on a map... Every single time, the world and story actually match his role play.

In a way, I would compare Shadow to Haruhi Suzumiya.
