Ah, yes, the Narissa's crowd. He's been doing pretty much daily, good quality updates on that one manga and people are scared he'll drop it if someone else comes in, so they're a bit liable to overreact. I hope it doesn't haunt you.

I love your scans and get what you mean with the different styles. There have been A LOT of manga that I've dropped because of translations that were poor quality or not to my liking, so I really appreciate when someone comes in and puts up a good-quality translation like yours. I also really appreciate when someone picks back up a dropped manga that I love. I hope you don't fully give up on other series, there are tons that I would love to see you work you magic on!

Two or more people translating a manga is not the problem. The problem is most translators will just up and drop a series if another one comes around, even if the new translation isn't as good. Snipers also rarely work on a series for very long in my experience.

"Claiming" manga is mostly a etiquette thing because

1. If 2 different groups translate the same manga, one of them could do a new manga that doesn't have a translation, claiming manga increased the amount of manga available
2. A lot of groups asks for donations to buy raws, if the views and donations drop because there's competition they would end dropping their version and worst case dissolve the group for lack of funds, and only groups that have money themselves to buy raws without donations could translate

But claiming also has some problems, like the assholes that gatekeep chapters in their discords/patreons and only upload them here when another group sees that the last update on mangadex is 3 months old, being considered "dropped" by the asshole group, I could name like 4 groups that like pulling that shit here on mangadex but there's no reason
Or, commonly combined with the last problem, groups that take on 20 Manga so you know that if the manga you are reading is weekly in Japan, it will be bi-weekly here because the group has to go through the 5 previous manga in their rotation but they still won't drop it so someone with more time can do it
