You see, the problem of this Manga and the reason this has a lower score is all because it seems like NOTHING in this world has consequences.
And to not help at all the MC is way too soft.

It's just a very goofy story. It's a loose collection of tired tropes but the mangaka seems genuinely unwilling or unable to make them happen organically.
MC is the most wishy-washy person you've ever seen and, despite not wanting slaves or a harem, takes every step to grow his slave count/harem size. That's fine but the story doesn't seem like it's trying to be ecchi at all, besides the one slave he did want. Idk.

So MC is willing to bet his life, and the livelihood of Wendy and Shiro, just to save the woman who actively tried to kill an innocent man. Even if there was "no harm because healing potions", Renge actively tried murdering someone who was operating within the confines of the law.
At most MC should just try to get her enslaved at a place that will maintain her virtue and just work her hard. Its the fact that he wants her to get off scot free (which she shouldn't) thats hindering things.

Very funny thing is, Japan has one of the most law-abiding citizen to boot they have one of the biggest conviction rates i.e. if arrested you going to jail (found guilty).
Actually japanese are so fucking hellbent on not breaking the rules that they will tattle on you to the police if you break the rules.
This mangaka isn't even japanese level of doormat he is something that even normal japanese couldn't fathom to keep.
EDIT: Wow, i simply do not understand the logic. Usually japanese authors try to brownnose editors and government censure by cultivating overly doormatty people who must follow the law. This isn't even remotely correct.

1.1 Doesn't matter if slave, friend or family she basically coerced someone to take drastic actions and forced their hands to commit criminal acts, knowing full well their personality. Most people would even cross out that person if they were blood relative, who the fuck wants to keep around someone who plots against you, while living under your care, roof and eats your food.
1.2 Renges criminal acts are brutal. I will categorize by severity: Evading taxes(toll) -> Starting a brawl in private establishment -> Attacking government official (she kicked the guard) -> Taking a hostage -> Attempted murder.
In our modern world this would account in many places for minimum of 10 years in prison without parole up to death sentence (or life in prison). In medieval times prison for life or death sentence by hanging or chopping the head off for public to see. Prison sentence for life isn't better than death, eating rotten bread and drinking water while being used by prison guards until death isn't flowery compared to fast public death.
2) He is promoting corruption
3) He is promoting breaking the laws
4) He is enabling above stated criminal behaviors to cultivate
5) He is a bad guardian and slave owner (believe me parenting and owning a slave has a lot more in common than you think)
6) He puts at risk his slaves (family) to safe a person who was ready to kill even them
7) What will happen to his slaves if he becomes the slave of the slave owner? By definition they also become his slaves.....God how did the author manage to go through school? With his mental abilities 9 grades are the max and only because state is forced to teach that imbecile and let him out. I pray for authors parents to have other children.
If this moron of an author thinks that any DECENT or above human being can empathize with MC he is dead wrong, i think even japanese usual losers who read this cannot stomach that. (Referring to that they have bigger tolerance to doormat behavior due to cultural differences and if compared western losers (people with loser mentality) and japanese are miles apart.)
Loser mentality is basically attributed with lack of self-respect (i.e. accepting unjust behavior towards thyself), acceptance of defeat before even trying (not in this MC i know), lack of self-respect hinders ability to truly love someone(by that defend them).
