Hm, wait, I noticed that Ekdwick, or however his name was spelled, actually has no reason to kill his ally nor save the MC. He just needed to not kill Lacra to not sully his pride.
Unless the MC promised him a one on one match between him and Lacra after should he follow his direction?

The worst possible outcome for him is "Lacra defeated me, but still lost because of Parshuro, which means my father lost to some absolute nobody and his teachings weren't even enough to get revenge and I had to get carried by my teammate" so even if Lacra doesn't die, the MC or Illya dying and the others going free would still ruin his goal as that would count as Lacra's failure and therefore tank her reputation and by proxy his father's.

PoliSci with a MD here, we are not like that, well, somethimes, but not will ppl, well, somethimes, but not in a cool way, more in a "emm achktuhally" way :(
Sorry, I was largely joking when I said it. PoliSci is, from my (an outsider's) perspective, the study of how to manipulate people, but manipulating somebody isn't always bad. Manipulating an addict to seek treatment, for example.

That's certainly true. Manipulation has negative connotations, but alternatively, everyone accepts influence and influencers. Influencers and manipulators aren't really any different in principle.

Nah, Influencers are without a doubt a social poison. They're either misguided dupes who are shilling for something, or obfuscated advertisers shilling for something. Either way, they're in it for notoriety or money, almost never for altruistic reasons.
