I am unreasonably annoyed that the author went to the trouble of mocking up a "proper" diagram of the steam engine modifications and yet failed to actually put the funnel over the boiler and for whatever reason stuffed it in the far back of the ship instead. So not only does it functionally not work well (if at all), but also adds a shitton of weight to the aft above the waterline, so the seakeeping ability of the ship is probably also shot to shit.
Basically it's like showing a diagram of a passenger jet but you took the engines off the wings and stuck them all on the front around the cockpit because you don't really get how the engines and planes work.
