i mean, its pretty common if an author wants to depict something controversial, they just write the targets as what they think the reader would find deserving of it. there was 0 chance the writer would write them as good cause then he would have no excuse

but what i really like is that we get a bit of the reverse culture imposition tendencies
normally in Japanese Isekai and South Korean Webtoons that tend to have a character chef it up at least once or twice
when a character goes to another world, they basically force their land's food on the locals, who basically get mind controlled into immediately having a pallet for it.
-even worse when it comes to sushi and soda
Realist w/e is another prime example since we're dealing with food insecurity and poverty (wasting resources)
this does the UNO reverse
from different ways you can bathe with the Greek Hip Bath (nice t/l note bois)
and in chapter 10 (where I am currently) with tea eggs from the chinese loli dragon
I had a few myself last year but it didn't have spices (it tasted different for sure but not much different from a normal egg)
- unless mine was just unique, the tea egg in the manga shouldnt have been white
