I think they've shown the MC is too competent and only someone with a similar enough level of knowledge could be a problem in the future. Even then it really doesn't make any sense, if he's a super peace and love guy who's disconnected from real world consequences then sure but like you said he was quite literally going to become a brutal slave and probably just killed after. You can't maintain your world view in that case.

I love how in mangas they have the trope of "I stole the otherworlder's research notes."

MC already proved in chapter 1 that most of his technical words don't really make sense in this world. Since he likely uses Earth's scientific names and manufacturing processes, those notes are useless to anybody that doesn't have a background in biology, chemistry, and agriculture. It'd be like reading another language.
