@SingLove, I think you replied to me before I realized I was commenting on chapter 5 instead of chapter 4 where it was revealed the Princess turned him down. I reposted it there and tweaked my thoughts a little, think I removed a lot of what I posted here on chapter 5.
I agree that there's a lot more than a lack of communication going on at this point.
As far as the room thing goes, that can go either way. Here in the U.S. previous generations used to do that and still love each other, be friendly, and have the occasional intimate moment. While some didn't, and you can tell it was a marriage made of obligation rather than intimate love. So that could go either way for the Princess. I think I said in the post I deleted that I felt this was an indication he was being used, but revisiting chapter 4 again, the Princess obviously blushed when he approached her for sex. That could mean she was embarrassed, could mean she was taken aback by the approach, could also mean given her current physical state, probably not feeling pretty, etc. that she was surprised he was interested in her that way although she didn't want it. It's hard to assign any motive to her responses unless the author tells us because it could be anything. So now I'm reluctant to assign direct malice to the Princess on this one. I said in my new post that I think the King actually loves MC like a son, but after revisiting chapter 1 again, I don't think that's the case. When the king told him he'd let him be heir to the throne, the Princess told MC that her father had finally recognized him after 10/11ish years. So it's difficult to assign any feelings for the MC from the king at this point until the author gives us more.
I'm also now of the mindset that this whole only having sex to have a descendant might not be a thing in their society, again after chapter 6 reveal. See spoiler tag above if you haven't already read the chapter. I think this might just be the Princess.
So I still think it was a problem with MC's communication in the beginning when he first noticed this was a problem. He should've said something before a child popped out, but he obviously didn't because here we are. He could've respectfully bowed out of the king candidacy and the marriage at that point before bringing a son into the mix. It would've likely been easier than it would be now, not necessarily without its problems, but easier without the son and heir to the throne after him if MC becomes king. I think there would've still been political back lash on him, but he wouldn't have been attached at the hip through a child to the Princess. It's also likely he sucked it up and stayed with her because at that time Luca was married to the Wizard and MC had no other options, which given the young female warrior's reaction to him, was an idiotic thought for him to have. But MC is Japanese, and it's known they have low birth rate problems because of the way young men and women see sex and approaching each other in their society. A lot of manga fans know about the whole herbivore men thing, but young women over there aren't even interested in having sex and thinks it's unnecessary to live their lives.
I know this is getting long, I tend to do that, sorry. As to your options. 1) I don't think concubines are a thing in this society. If that were so, MC and Luca would've come forth by now. 2) As I said, I don't think communicating will work. Perhaps if MC went to the King and complained then the whole concubine thing would become a thing, but the way the Princess responded to his approach for intimacy, it tells me this society may frown on that type of thing. The way MC and Luca are sneaking around, also tells me this society frowns on that sort of thing. Especially at such a political level for MC. 3) I think this is one of two of his only options. To stay and raise his son and then check out.
I still think he has another option which is to check out altogether, disappear somewhere no one can find them for a while or to another kingdom if this isn't the only one in this world and just live out their lives.
I also want to add after briefly revisiting chapter 1 that I think MC got caught up in the Isekai roleplay nonsense. There were indications that Luca was feeling him when they were on their adventure, but at the end of the adventure MC abruptly decided to marry the princess and then there's an obvious shot of Luca's disappointment. So MC likely spent some time being dense and so this 180s back to being primarily his fault for making the wrong choice in the beginning.
I'm also curious about another thing. What happened to the Sage chick in the party and what part will she play in all of this?

During those times she complained about it hurting. So it appears she can't handle the MC's obvious pron-length schlong. @Elroy not only that but having large dicks usually lead to higher rate of cheating according to University result and unhappy marriage. Hey man...I don't really like cheating or ntr but in situations like this? I fully support it, Can't blame the mc if the passion is no longer there just because you have a child now doesn't mean you no longer have to be that intimate anymore. The way I see it, the princess' goal on this relationship is objective while our MC wants true passionately love. Once the child is born, the princess thinks that her duty is over. Yeah, duty is the right word for her objective in their relationship which is sad.
