I imagine it's the latter, but since they didn't know that magic guns were made from normal guns, no one thought to try it, including Ryoji.

That aside, I really like that the Gunner job has an actual downside like that, where they're both (seemingly) even more limited on weapon options than other jobs and essentially have a fixed attack power; it'd be an absolutely busted job otherwise.

I’m assuming the mentioned lv100 mod from the [Gunsmith 2] skill would allow gunners to bypass that fixed damage limitation by quite literally making the magic guns shoot magic like what people would normally expect when they heard the word “magic gun”. Until then, it’s essentially a “magic-infused gun that shoots magic bullets”.

But if all you need is for the gun to be “infused” to make it work in dungeons, I guess you might as well put in something with a higher firepower like a minigun/microgun, or one of those 4-bore elephant guns, or a grenade launcher (more china lake rep pls), or maybe the Scott-grade 1-bore hand cannon (the one that will break your shoulder when not fired mounted to something).

Chapter 30 is out, second part came just 10 days ago, the translator is not being slow, the mangaka is, after the guy started another isekai adaptation the releases got much more irregular.

As Lolitobrut said above the mangaka is at "fault", chapter 30 was completed a month ago in Japan with part 2 of it, the 1st part was release almost 2 months ago.
The mangaka started another isekai adaptation last year or so, right after it Influencer release schedule got much more unstable and it slowed down so much that it takes 2 months for a chapter of normal lenght to come out.
Unfortunately is unlikely to change, the mangaka makes relatively easy money as he doesn't have to create a story for either manga and his artstyle is decent but nothing complicated.
If Influencer got a anime is possible that he would focus on it, but is a gamble.
The other isekai is nothing amazing, super cliche plot, Influencer was fresh when it came out but other similar plots are comign out, making it lose it uniqueness.

With that gun I'm more worried about ruptured eardrums... but I'm glad someone else also noticed the lack of hearing protection.

The US could conveniently forgot their crates of guns in the dungeon then have more magic guns

They don't just get converted and handed back to you by the Dungeon Fairy, or something. They get absorbed and then maybe get left in random chests, and if the dungeons are networked or something those guns could be showing up in some other country.

I would assume that like any job, the Gunner gets skills that can increase damage, or give effects to their shots. A lvl 1 isn't going to be doing Charged shots, or doing the shotgun burst thing with their handgun.
