No one likes a hardass that insists on their routine. Some flexibility will give way to both parties.
that’s true but since we see that he’s always been about his routine it brings up the question of 1. why did she even get with him if she wasn’t okay with his stubbornness and routines and 2. she still doesn’t get the right to hit him

it's clear this wasn't the first time they argue and he's incredibly dismissive of her issues
also I assume she thought it wouldn't be so bad but dragging her to a shack in the middle of nowhere with no explanation was probably a step too far

Such lesson to learn. I'll be blunt about this.

Like it or not, can't blame the (ex-)wife. World doesn't have to bend to your routine or your whim. Especially when YOU DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO OTHERS. It's quite selfish, no matter how "unique" you are. The restaurant is kind enough to get used with you. The woman might not fit to be with you. Other women might do, but not that time.

That's life.

Neither does he listen to her, nor you read what she said.

She snapped. And I say, it's good to slap him.

Look, he could've said, "Sorry for that, I just want you to enjoy this spot with me, this is meaningful for me and I want to share it with you,". No. He wants her to let her go while not listening to her, and he blames her for not following his routine.

No matter how "divergence" or whatever you call yourself, in other people's sight, you're just being a selfish prick.
I'm glad she slaps him to give him some touch of reality. If you want the world to "get used" to you, you also have to "get used" to the world.

If it needs a slap to make him learn to give his favorite spot to a kid, so be it.
(Remember, he never wanted to share his place to a mere kid before)

So in your mind its okay to be violent when someone inconveniences you slightly. Or are you only okay with it because the domestic violence was assaulting a man?

Tbf, slightly inconvenienced is one thing, being gaslighted that it's your fault he's inconvenienced is pushing a little too close to snapping territory, especially if this has been happening for who knows how long. Even a girl doing that would deserve a slap one way or another. Now I don't condone violence, but manipulation is just as if not worse.

You are completely misuisng the term gaslighting. Gaslighting is an abuse technique where you systematically try to convince someone they're insane or have something seriously wrong with them. Disagreement is not gaslighting. In his point of view her arguing and dragging her heels put him behind the routine he found comfort in.
He wasnt lying or misleading her they simply disagreed on how important his routine is.

So the only difference from your definition and mine is if it was a conscious choice on his part. In her point of view he is undermining her feelings and painting her in the wrong for something that only he believes in. He gave no explanation for days, no attempts at communicating the importance of his routine. Even on his first appearance he was judging root as a child simply cause he was in his chair. That's narcissistic on his part to assume root has to follow him just cause of his routine
He may not be consciously gaslighting but he painted her to be in the wrong. That's not communication.

Edit: The chapter with the werewolf and the succubus was a better example of a disagreement cause they actually tried to communicate their points but just can't agree. Meanwhile, the best attempt at communication Iwacha did is being dismissive of her gripes by saying "it's his routine".

You, really don't read it, do you
Slightly is one thing. I'll let it slide. It's called "Tolerate".

Remember what she said, "Barely listen". She has asked him times and times again, and obviously, this is not his first time. He doesn't care, it's only "my routine, my routine, my routine". Not asking her, not answering her why, nor nothing. And she said she has been following it FOREVER.

And then he blames her because guess what, it inconveniences him. Because it is all about him, isn't it? So who's being selfish here again? See?

I don't mind some girls punched by a guy in another title (Like AHO GIRL, for instance). So yeah, people like him deserves a slap or two. What's your excuse?

The manga shows that he learns how to be more flexible in his habits at the end when he easily accepts to take a different seat. That's not OCD, that's a self-centred guy learning a lesson.
"Easily"? He just got assaulted by someone he loved, the fuck do you mean "easily"?

If you cant read then you cant read but I highly suggest you stop misusing terms like gaslighting it makes you sound like a melodramatic teenager.
Let me explain it more clearly since you seemed to struggle when I didn't spell it out for you.
If he were gaslighting her he would constantly change his routine then tell her she was wrong, stupid or crazy for saying it was different to how it was now, not that it was her fault he was behind schedule.
Thats the difference. Your opinion was he was gaslighting her by disagreeing with her which somehow justified violence which is just wrong in every sense of the word

Being selfish doesnt justify violence just because it was a man being hit.
Guess the girl staying at the canteen in the manga deserves the shit beat out of her because she decided she lives there now?
Domestic violence isn't okay just because its a man being hit thats not an excuse thats a fact.

It's your fault I'm hitting you.
You made me do this.
A lot of you really think violence is a one way street.
Theyre just cool justifying it because its a man being assaulted.
Swap the genders and theyd cry at the author to lynch the guy.

Disagreeing is one thing. Repeatedly dismissing, not only once, not twice but enough and blame her just not for not "getting his groove" is what, again?
So of course it's her fault not to get to his routine, right?

I didn't use word "gaslighting", but well, if the shoe fits...
