They heard about Nobu so many times but Nobu never heard of them. It’s like a one side love.
Maybe it's because Nobu is in a former imperial capital, while Gen is in a current one? People would flock into the latter

Gen didn't exist until Nobu was multiple volumes in, so of course the spin-off would have heard of the main series and not the other way around. It's up to the author to decide whether or not there's going to be a crossover chapter or two.

Nobu is in the former imperial capital of the Empire. (!Germany)
Gen is in the capital of the Eastern Kingdom (!France), a whole different country.

Crossover time! Now that they have a name of the restaurant in Aitheria so it's just a matter of plugging "Izakaya Nobu" into Yelp and they can go find it in Japan.
I would 100% do this just to meet somebody who has the same odd experience.
And travelling in our world is far easier and faster.

They would probably be hella shocked tho.

Pierre said that they ate tonkatsu when they were young, implying that they had been eating in isekai'd Japanese restaurants long before Nobu.

I wonder how many are Fox territory and how many are Tengu, or other mystical creatures.

My guess is if the location is closer to a mountain it's in Tengu territory, and if it's close to a shrine it's Fox territory.

based on krowinkel said... does it mean when he came to GEN, NOBU is already vanished...?
Probably not Nobu.
If you read up to the recent chapters in Nobu, they meet another Japanese person where their building was burned down.

Huh…so Nobu is in Not-HRE, and Gen is in not-France? What next, a chippy shop in “United Kingdom”? Or a Pizzeria/Osteria at the Holy Kingdom?

The soy sauce guy in Nobu is from not-UK, IIRC.

They're in different countries.

It hamburg steak right?
Not hamburger steak?
Hamburger is the burger
You are right, it is Hamburg steak. It's a common translation error because the Japanese spelling is very similar. ハンバーグ (hanbaagu) for Hamburg steak, and ハンバーガー (hanbaagaa) for hamburger.
Google Translate translates both as "hamburger", which really does not help the confusion.

It's not Hamburg steak unless it was made in the Hamburg region of Germany. Anything else is just Sparkling Beef Patty.

Not all shrines worship foxes. There are many shrines in Japan worship Tengu, too. Tengu can also be servants to other kami and guard their shrines. I have also seen shrines worshipping Tanuki, Mizuchi, or Kappa.
More like the locations are based on prefectures since Japanese from different prefectures worshipping different kami or yokai. Each village also have their own local kami.
BTW, I think the stores that disappeared might be because that the kami lost their power. Kami gains power through their followers and worshippers, but with how many young Japanese don't follow these traditions anymore, minor kami shrines are being abandoned all over Japan.
