So nice to see Gernot again! Thank you for the double chapters released at once so we can get the full arc :)

those nicknames went from scary to funny with more context :dogkek:

Simmering a stew for 3 days over a gas flame seems like a fire hazard
if you're the one doing it then i bet it is a fire hazard. but for an experienced chef who knows exactly what they're doing? they can simmer a stew for weeks, months, or even years! not to mention, fresh stews will taste mid. they taste better the longer they simmer

While that is a fair point, them and Gernot going over why they have the nicknames just for the readers is still on the clunky side. It wasn't so bad with just the squeezer dude, but the other two making a big deal of their soups felt a touch weird.
Huh, the feel weird for me is the squeezer one, if he just say something like "sorry, im in middle of squeezing oil before i rushed here" is more natural. And both soup guys is more natural because that is their signature dish, and they rival is there too so why not invite him while poke your rival at the same time.

Talking about associations, I wonder if there is a restaurants association and what is their opinion on the izakaya .

He be another patron and will figure out that that establishment is frequented by the elites.

Funny thing is Napolitan is not an Italian dish. It a Japanese war crime against Italy. It is Japanese variation that used ketchup.
Yeah the Japanese really like how sweet the ketchup is apparently, I have seen a couple east Asian foodtubers express a preference for sweet and salty so wonder if it's BC of the usual cooking wine/vinegar/soy/stock combo being quite common in that area for comfort food.

According to Google, Spaghetti alla Napoletana / Pasta al pomodoro are probably the dishes they derived it from? Which is very cool.😌

Fusion food is always interesting to see esp with cooking manga & anime.

(I really do wish one day someone would tackle that Rokuhoudo Yotsuiro Biyori series that has a huge amount of chapters to it, BC I'm running out of cooking series to read...🥲 It hurts that so many are orphaned rn )

I love this story... A new character was introduced... then served a delicious food but instead of focusing the food it was more focused on the way it cooked and other things... Most of other food manga, including this, will focus on how delicious the food or some extravagant reaction from a new character... But this chapters is more mellow and more focused on some philosophical about time and such...

Many thanks for both chapters!
It's good to have a chapter centered around Gernot.

A small remark: page 14, first panel, the young auditor should ask for an "apéritif", not an "apeterif".

A minor complaint, but I feel like the explanation of the contracted collectors' names would have been better done as the inspector asking Gernot after their meal, rather than the collectors themselves self expositing.
I agree, or at the very least depict them being interviewed and have the Q and A directly on the page.
Like "I heard you are called [], may I have the explanation why?"
Guy explains.
Then if there's a page limit or whatever, it can be followed with a montage of the other guys with just textbox explanation like "Name = []. Occupation = []. Specialty: []"
