I'm glad Efa is beloved by spirits/gods/fairies/etc.

I keep thinking that Efa should become a priestess or something along those lines once she's older and stops working at Nobu, since she keeps having encounters with gods and spirits.

But goddamn all those eggplant dishes look amazing, particularly Eggplant Tempura, I wish there was an cheaper way to get it around here. Also side note, there's no way the pickled eggplant was from that harvest right? doesn't pickling take time?

Expanding on the quick pickle mentioned before. If you prepare your pickling liquid (water, vinegar, sugar, salt as a base), boil it and pour it over thinly sliced vegetables you can make pickles with about 20min of pickling. Works well with onions and cucumber for example.

"Taichou" is the only chef Nobu has ever had, it was a brand new restaurant that he opened at the beginning of the series. You're thinking of the other series, "Gen", which has the restaurant with the former head chef.

To be honest, I got momentarily confused and thought of the origins of yet another isekai restaurant (Isekai Shokudou), but realized that the mechanism there was slightly different (and AFAIK, not completely explained).

To be honest, I got momentarily confused and thought of the origins of yet another isekai restaurant (Isekai Shokudou), but realized that the mechanism there was slightly different (and AFAIK, not completely explained).

In Shokudou the mechanism was created by the previous owner’s wife and the current owner’s grandma. She used an old artifact she had on her when she was thrown to Earth after the fight with the Demon God as a catalyst to connect the two worlds together

There's theory that she's Eleonora mom but there is no info about her yet (unless you read Web novel but I didn't so yee)
