Dunno if I'm more triggered by the caesar salad being made with bacon, or by them thinking that it is a vegetarian dish...

Didn't that fisherman scoop up a kraken for that marriage interview like it was nothing? Whaling is nothing in comparison.

@Deadkinginhell . Its actually a more good reason to invade Alteria. European invade South east Asia and India for the sake of spices
Actually, no.

The problem here is that the information about goods on the market and the actual food you get in (this) store are way too different.
It makes any one think that information is intentionally withheld by someone.

Now, this coupling with the fact that an odd looking store can serve food that is extremely good by their world's standard means the actual people are having good, flourishing lives. That in turn means an insane amount of tax that can be put into military and such technology.

And that is not to mention the whales. Oh the damn whales. Those were creatures impossible to conquer once, even in our world. If this single city has the technology and the audacity as well as wealth to make this creature into food, what frightening power does it have in their military?

And the last damned blow is that a high ranking priest is just there, having his meal. As if he had the inteligence network so capable that they knew he was a spy to have this old coot sitting there. How scary is that?

India and South-East Asia were invaded not just because they had the resources, but also because their technology level, including that of their armies and wealth were not deemed as threatening enough that would risk a war where European powers would lose. So this basically make the other powers think this is a place you would want to have business with to build your power instead of expending your power to go against. Thus, a war might be thwarted.
