The XP scaling is almost certainly exponential.

MC was taking down the final boss on the 999th floor daily, and his level was barely increasing.

Plus he cleared all of the dungeons enough in when in the other world to have encyclopedic knowledge about them (he couldn't do his shows if he didn't know the dungeons really well), so he almost certainly used this ball levelling trick himself. And still took many years to get to his current strength.

The MC has been hunting the LAST floor boss almost every day and still isn't leveling up like crazy, so the possibility of there being a ridiculously huge gap between his level and the other humans is big.
