I've read the first nine(9) chapters as of January 29th, 2025. So it might be a tad early.
The manga is fun, fast-paced, pretty funny, the art is nicely detailed, the action is not too difficult to follow and there are lots of contextually funny moments.
But there is very little logic in this story.
The MC is supposed to have six years of additional experience from the other world (I think it was sort of implied that he is supposed be more mature like an adult) but for some reason it's limited to fighting, talking casually and not getting scammed by ignoring people.
I suppose we can let some of that slide because he came back home after six years of what sounds like a lot suffering and now he wants to enjoy his youth and have a normal life. I might be overthinking but maybe he is suffering from some backlash or side-effects because of what happened. (But hey, that's just a hypothesis, A MANGA HYPOTHESIS)
Still for a person who has been through so much, he is still kinda stupid. He doesn't try to control the situation with his abilities, doesn't ask enough questions and just starts fighting after realising that the other person is not an ordinary human or friendly alien.
Every day somebody throwing hands with him.
Some abilities and entities are not really explained but that's ok. I don't want every little thing to have it's stats and info shown by a videogame-system-menu-thingy.
But like, actually what are his abilities?(The simple explanation of 'its magic and experiences' is enough for most. Same for spirits and aliens)
Do the angels work for someone or are they just rogue or more like wild animals who are kinda like humans? They certainly don't act professional.
Half the characters are only there to fight him (and lose) and the other half are to support him (kinda) or be victims that need his help. So it's a little annoying.
Not only that but many characters are kinda stupid and irresponsible. Like seriously, the mom just assumes that the explosion sound she heard was a dumbbell, the police know about spirituality and powers but currently they don't really do anything (maybe they can but they are just incompetent like many other enforcement agencies and stuff in comics, at the that's what it looks like to me), or maybe that's intended to be part of the humour or convenience. And the MC just overlooks so many potentially important things—the part where he loses focus from looking at the elder's nose hair was funny tho—and these things could also affect him and those he cares about. I think this is also very annoying.
I think the author is just throwing things in like that one comment said. It's fun to see all these elements go together but sometimes it just doesn't make sense.
Writing-wise it doesn't look that good.
Still this was entertaining to read. I think this should be thought of as a... uh... purely battle and comedy shonen fighting manga or something. Yeah just turn off your brain of and enjoy the action, art and comedy. I don't see much of a plot developing but maybe I'm just too early.
