They regionlock shit, right? I’m in the opinion that region-locked officials can go fuck themselves because most of us probably aren’t Americans anyway, so what’s the whole fucking point beside depriving your fans for the sake of short-term profits?
Because it's decisions made by octogenarian Japanese men who can't see beyond next quarter's profits.

I doubt the mangaka have much say about this. It's all on the publishers. In fact, I bet that if there was a self-publishing platform like Amazon's Kindle Direct that actively connected mangaka to top-tier scanslators so they could also sell translated versions on the same platform, they'd fucking jump at it. Because if there is one thing most mangaka care about more than money, it's getting more and more readers. (Not that they don't care about the money - they do - it's just not quite as important.)

The ones that are going purely for profits are the younger Gen-Y executives. The Gen-Xers and Boomers among them that make decisions like that are more about "Japan for Japan only", "Gaijin Go Home", and "Hirohito Did Nothing Wrong" kinda thinking.

If LHTranslations doesn't get DMCA, and keeps translating, I might actually go to their site to read this. Being loyal to this site is great and all. But I've found I had to go through other means just to read stuff I thought was abandoned

Thanks for the clarification, but that makes it worse because it means they'll be around longer...

Oh we all know it’s absolutely all the publisher’s fault. Kodansha is a publisher.

Also hey not all millennials are profit-focused, and i doubt all get X-ers are that isolationists.
