Have they ever told us why she needs that Caramel Grass except for mixing it with weed and getting one helluva drug? How are the chances that our MC concocts a remedy for the king or rather the chances of the king's sickness being a way to bring (unnecessary) drama and succession as a theme to the manga?

@boag Oh you and your anti-establishment thoughts. You should really read up on some history. De-centralization of power is one of the best ways for a country to be split apart. If one wants to maintain the country's unity, there would need to be a centralization of power. If not people who hold large amount of lands will declare their independence and withdraw from the country. The best tried and tested method is still the democratic system which is split into 3 groups. The People, the law, and the government.

@boag Actually it's not a jap thing. In the classical era, and even in the medieval, many European and Asian powerhouse came to be after centralization. There's a line how much leeway can you give to an uneducated popolus, especially if you have a strong aristocracy system. Right now this country uses a military that's a mixture of the Pre-Marius Roman, and medieval European countries had. They need a reform, where they distribute the weaponary to the soldiers, create special training for them, also where they pay them, so their liveliehood isn't stripped when they go to war (less food shortage). Also, this needs to come from the king, not the aristocrats, and the army needs to be a royal one, where they could mobilize whenever they need, not at the whims of their nobles.

@boag I completely agree with you. Why not suggest a republic? Its what put the US and European Countries as a dominant political force. Freedom baby

Well he's talking to the Royal family, so obviously Centralization is the best thing for them.

Centralization is the most efficient way to improve backward countries the fastest. Obviously to make this work you must have competent officials at the top by using the merit system. Whereby if you use democracy it doesn't always work out unless you have a highly educated population that are well informed in politics, otherwise, you will get incompetent leaders that will do alot of damage(Trump), even worst have many corrupted individuals get to the top and your country never get things done(India), and the worst outcome you will get corrupted individuals that will take advantage of the ignorant mass and slowly transition back to dictatorship (Erdogan in Turkey).

The best method is to have centralized power at first and once you have wealthy and educated citizens that are well informed in politics then you can slowly transition to democracy.

China vs India is a good example of the two governments and the changes.

@firefox1234 tell who the world hegemon is and what govermental system they have.
@junlian no
@swaggernaut77 finally someone with some sense.
@Istvan90623 Im saying its a Jap thing, because they do pretty much worship the goverment and want them to take care of everything, and remember what happened to the Roman Empire, centralization made it harder and slower for orders to reach the outer reaches of the empire, so when they started getting screwed on more than one battlefront if basically collapsed the entire system that started rotting from corruption.

He's proposing not just a centralized government, but one based on "Divine Right" as well -- that to disobey the King is to disobey God. It's pretty scary since we've seen what's happened with that in the past in our world.

But even democracies are "centralized", and even with how educated modern populations are, they're still idiots. (for example only like 1 in 3 Americans can name a single branch of government). There's certainly no reason to believe that a democracy will lead to better decision-making.

IMO, what he also needs to create is a 'shadow government' that rules secretly adhering to certain moral principles and ruthlessly cuts down people who stray from them.
