Yep. Her current fiance is butthurt because he lost his thunder to Almus. He and a few of his connections are basically looking for just about any way to "discretely" fuck with him because of it. Iirc, Yuria was his fiance before this all happened though so him intervening would be basically him using his political position to oppress one of the "noble" families serving under him. Which gives them an justifiable excuse to publicly declare their opposition towards him.
If Almus wants Yuria for a wife, he needs to remove the power difference from the deciding factor. He can use it if needed, but it has to be justifiable. So he needs the other party to basically either rebel, thus breaking off from the kingdom and giving Almus the reason he needs to remove (kill) them, or he needs to somehow publicly shame them, which would destroy the marriage (since it is only a political marriage, and it is pointless to ally with a disgraced former noble family who has lost all power/influence). Both are tricky and while the second is preferable, it is entirely out of his hands to cause it. The first is more likely, but would mean many innocent would die, political power shifts, etc.. All that a new emerging nation does not want to deal with basically.

@broadsword80 There are 3 strong factions, kings family faction, dibals family faction and Tetra's family factions, then all the neutral people. Tetra's faction was weekended after the coup so the king family faction had no choice but to go with Diebal, but Diebal isnt well liked.
If Almus who is head of Tetra's family faction and adopted son of King's faction is willing to marry her then it woukd be acceptible. It might lead to civil war but the country has no future under Diebal. They chose him cause they had no choice but to, but now there is a better option.

In the web novel, they made diebal lose faith in his strategist leading to the strategist death, then after a war, they had a victory party and MC uses the party to accuse the diebal family of being traitors(cause they didnt fight in the war and slightly helped the enemy), then executes his family on the spot

Okay I get that polygamy is normal here so nobody bats an eyelash at it, but isn’t the MC from our world? Shouldn’t he feel like wrong about cheating (still coming from our world’s mentality). Anyway, if I were in the MC’s shoes I’d say to hell with politics. We all knew we’d get here eventually, I just didn’t expect the woman herself to initiate it (I’d figure we’d get the usual cliche or her insisting she had to go through with the marriage for politics before the MC forced her to admit her true feelings, he crashed the wedding, and they ran away together blah blah blah). I would actually MUCH prefer it if they just skipped the bullshit and went down this route. Just take her now and worry about the rest later. I really DO NOT need to see that same arc repeated for the quadrillionth time and for it to take up who knows how many chapters (at least this way she can already be at the MC’s side while the politics take who knows how many chapters). Just take the girl; the rest will work itself out later. Remembers the Trojan War One way or the other

@TNT261 Based on for how long he's been in this world, he should've already killed and buried his old world mentality ages ago. Otherwise he has failed massively and hopefully dies or causes the death of loved ones so that he grows the fuck up (or, in case of himself dying, we can get another MC, who does the thing that any normal human being would do, which is adapt).

@TNT261 my thoughts on this are that it might be a cultural thing. Polygamy/bigamy had been disallowed in Japan only in 1945 as opposed to the much earlier Britain-1604, Spain- 16th/17th century (no one expects the spanish inquisition! )USA-1862, and Canada-1886, the latter two already having accepted the influence of the pioneering countries.
Assuming the harem-manga tropes we have are equally prevalent in the mc’s world. Considering the much more recent history of polygamous marriages in Japan it’s not unthinkable that he’s capable of accepting a polyamorous relationship

I totally get Fuko and BrownStorm. This chapter now... I know, this sounds crazy coming from an isekai fanboy, but this is just blend, brainless wishfullfillment. I want to sympathize with MC, but I can't if his behavior is too alien. And saying, that the setting is in a classic-era style fantasy world, so polygamy is fine, doesn't help. Still too alien. Some things just rubbed me the wrong way.
1. "Oh, you like that other girl. Okay, fuck her or even better get into a relationship with her to, even though you are already in one with me. It's fine, as I like her, too. Teehee." Yeah. No need for a girl that likes me just so much, that she is fine with sharing me. But it seems more like the author forced liberal bimbo girl logic onto the girls. Is this an 80's porn?
2. He's a prick. Normally this wouldn't fly without hurting someone.
3. Reverse the genders and you have a shitstorm.
But somehow his "No, we can't." in the end was the most infuriating thing. He went, starts cheating, because he knows Tetra would be cool with it, but wants to uphold morals at that point? I just want to punch him. Either live in a monogamous way or embrace the polygamous one, but don't milk it, you dumbf*ck!
