Comicdom is a scanlator that has gone by different names. They find a title that hasn't been updated lately and drop 5 or so okay scanlations and beg for money. It's usually something like "I need $50 to scanlate the next chapter here's where to donate."

Usually after they dump 3-5 chapters of something they never update it again.

Comicdom is a scanlator that has gone by different names. They find a title that hasn't been updated lately and drop 5 or so okay scanlations and beg for money. It's usually something like "I need $50 to scanlate the next chapter here's where to donate."

It's quite decent and comprehensible with little effort. People are just apprehensive because of Comicdom's practices. That nasty taste in our mouths has yet to be forgotten or fade. As long as your practices aren't like his and you just disappear after, it's all good.

Not the matter of TL quality, but Comicdom always eggs you on for lots of money to continue the series, and then dude just pump and dump a bucket of chs with inconsistent quality, so you can have chs that are as good as good teams like soseki…and bad chs that look like they got CQ’d by the village idiot (complete with an occasional entire page of missing/raw text)

IMO asking for some change to get some food and coffee’s ok. It’s a tough world nowadays after all.

What ppl are scared is a group that just mass-produces chs with no consistency, and just fucks off the moment money stops flowing so we’re just left looking like hungry idiots waiting for a ch. what ppl want is a consistent scanlator that does quality scanlating consistently (and without dragging it for ages like Project Time’s notorious month-long release buffer on top of their slow release) because anyone can pull off a good job once, but it’s sheer fucking will to do it again and again for a hundred releases (that’s why most ppl do scanlations in groups)

this. I can't say for sure, it seems that "comicdom" has some problem, from what I can read from the comment he's an as* for leaving the reader hanging with what's going on in the translation of his.

yeah I want food and coffee.
I'm not a scanlator but an individual translator out of curiosity and to share what I read so far to the readers although I can't defend of what I ask is also money but it's a fund for the greater good of food and coffee(all hail the coffee!)..
all I can say is I won't dare inflict the coffee I drink or food I eat that I asked for with cursed. Thank you for the explanation as to why there's a problem for the readers!
