This is so shit!, the MC is complete garbage, with out a pair, to even kill his enemies. Then he acts surprised when they come back later to kill him and his comrades. Complete garbage writing!, Fuck you Arthur for ruining what could have been a good manga, by adding a bullshit MC!

theres literally zero chance that a guy like that isnt going to try to seek revenge and not care at all about who he has to hurt to do it

I love how everyone here is mad the MC doesn't kill. If you were in his shoes, you wouldn't either, let's be real. It's easy to talk big, but end of the day, you wouldn't murder as a precaution either.
Shut up.

@TwilightFaze : Who even knows who would and wouldn't be capable of killing if they had the power to do so, and any attempt to arrest them for murder couldn't be enforced? Or for that matter if the idea that people can't or shouldn't kill each other wasn't being force-fed down their throats on a daily basis.
Speaking personally, I probably wouldn't have ended up in his shoes because I probably would have murdered most of the town by that point... probably as a result of serial escalation of misunderstandings (i.e. someone would annoy me, I'd kill them, others would show up for revenge or attempted law enforcement, I'd kill them too, repeat until my patience for any of their bullshit ran out completely and I nuked the town).
... Those are just the words of a worldweary misanthrope though. No need to pay them much heed.

Murder means to kill without justification and with intent. If I have a reasonable belief that he means to do harm to me or someone else, then I have a justification for killing him (to prevent him from hurting people). If I know the petrification spell will eventually wear off, and that he will come for me and mine, you bet your fucking ass Imma knock the head off his statue while I have the chance.

@Raudhbjorn: Then I'll rephrase: For all the big talk, no, most of you wouldn't actually kill. It's easy to say that beforehand but when it comes to the big moment, you won't do it. Why? Because the realization off what it means to take a person's life will finally sink in and you KNOW it will change you; for the better or for the worse, there's no telling. But whatever the case, that death will haunt you forever, unless you're a heartless sociopath.

Most of the commentors here are just kids still in high school. They don't know what it means to kill or murder. They just want to act tough and demean those who actually value life.

I'll grant that most of the commentary provided here is by children (ofwhatever age) who don't know what theyre talking about andwho just want tao releive the anxiety they feel about what an assshole the holy knight is.

It is however, a vast oversimplification to say that if killing doesn't change you, you're a heartless sociopath. Most of the time, killing someone is overshadowed by the frantic situation. The tremendous amount of adrenaline and anxiety combine with a violent act to create a perfect storm from which PTSD emerges. People who think through a killing and then perform it ina clinical manner almost never show signs of PTSD, not because they're sociopaths, but because theres no adenaline and fear surrou ding the act. There may be some regret, but usually such a killing is backed by fairly clearly reasoned out necessity, which acts as a bulwark against pointless emotional responses. These are the people who are fine with killing clear enemies, but who would lose their shit if they accidentally killed an innocent.

Yes there are sociopathic/psychopathic people who feel nothing over killing people, but they're exceedingly rare, and throwing the term around willy-nilly simply devalues to impact it should have when used correctly.

Raudhbjorn: I'm not saying there's no necessity, but that's getting sidetracked. I'm not talking about that at all.

I'm SPECIFICALLY talking about instances like this where you have a choice and you choose to kill instead. The MC is a good example of this. He chose to kill the demons because he understood there was no redemption and they would just keep killing (as you stated in your example). But in past cases like with the Holy Knights and Shera's brother, he chose not to (even though commentors felt they all believed he should) because he understood the weight of such actions, regardless of their twisted morality. These people did not deserve death, but these knucklehead commentors would relish in seeing Diablo in killing someone but if they were in his shoes they would have not killed them either.

That's what I'm getting at. You know the old saying about throwing stones in glass houses? Dunno about you, but I'm seeing a rain of rocks in here...

@SotiCoto Says the edgelord? It's pretty easy to tell which one of us is at least the decent person here.

@adfjs : Well you're not a person, so you don't qualify. So yeah, pretty easy to tell.
Also I'd probably have blocked you anyway at this point, but you just gave me an additional reason to be utterly disgusted.

@TwilightFaze The sadistic religious zealot guilty of torturing and executing who knows how many innocents doesn't deserve death? Especially after he tried to turn you into stone and torture your friends? I'm sorry but do you realize how incredibly stupid that sounds?

@1059212: That's not what I'm talking about at all. Like "AT ALL!"

My focus is specifically on the MC and how readers think he should be murderous when they wouldn't be able to do it either. For all the tough talk, they would NEVER take a life. You don't understand the gravity of taking a life nor the point of no return you cross when that happens, no matter how evil the person who killed is.

Don't get it twisted: They deserved death and good riddance! But don't get pissed off that the MC doesn't have your bloodlust. Leave the murderous streak for those who lost that piece of themselves, like the Lord and the villains.

@TwilightFaze Sometimes, I wonder if any of these hardened keyboard killers have ever actually listened to what the experience is like for people that have actually killed for the first time...like accounts from soldiers or such.

Maybe cos this is supposed to be a fantasy story after all. Why you gotta ruin the immersion for your grandstanding?

Fun fact: about every 5 out of 6 people are completely incapable of an intentional murder. People are just so inherently emphatical, that upon seeing another's face, they get a very strong instinctive aversion against killing. This actually used to be a problem for the armies, so they started training soldiers in such a way that they would shoot reflexively, thus killing the enemy before having a chance to see their faces and thus triggering the reaction. Now, about every 5 out of 6 war veterans suffer from life crippling PTSD.

Ah, also.
*raspy voice* Oh no. It seems the miracle build has encountered its only weakness: a player with a functioning controller. God can't help you now.
