They had to forcefully change their class to "Slave", I assume it's a non combat class and can never become as strong as a normal class. If they did that to the men, they probably would be weak as hell if they could fight at all. There's also the possibility that the master/slave relationship can't force them into dangerous/lethal encounters without breaking the mind control, that's a pretty common theme of more balanced mind control mechanics. Might have some other limitations as well like requiring constant orders and or range limitations and such meaning the mind control sucks for combat. Guess we'll see.
