The second half of this manga is actually getting me really good. I like the found family dynamic so much more, and the exploration of powers and “What does it mean to be a beast of calamity” seems to be handled better by the author.

Glad I kept reading even after a lackluster 2nd half of the first arc. I ended up just skimming past the chapters with the mecha bio dragon fights.

This 2nd arc where he has to go through a monster evolution has been more interesting. Reminds me of Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago datta: Ibara no Dragon Road or Kumo desuga, Nani ka?. The fights are actually more interesting to read now and the character dynamics are more fun too.

There's still that stupid fucking dense MC trope but with the girl being a rabbit monster it's much more forgivable.
