Even though I hate it, the politics makes sense. The girl didn’t want to leave because of the implications and in a sense, her dying in Howling Village would’ve been a better outcome (it would just mean she died from illness, so the villages could‘ve traded medicine). It sucks but it makes sense.
I don't understand this scenario at all. Why was the girl returned? Wasn't it because she'd have died otherwise? And so I don't understand what's so bad about her being returned? The whole "rotten" analogy? What's the said "implications"?

When you give someone a gift, and that gift you give is returned without any explanation whatsoever.
Sure, Howling is concerned about her health, but based on the chapter, they didn't explain it well enough, and Huuma village thought that Howling didn't like the "gift" they sent.
