I don't really feel you came across as defending the angle. If anything it felt like you were explaining what was your interpretation of the situation and the angle itself. I can understand why people think of his fixation as a bit odd. I actually feel it's fairly well justified considering how close they were as friends in the first cycle, and the mixture of both vindication when he was right about some girls he cucked and the guilt about the ones he was wrong about. Only for everything to blow up in his face because he couldn't stop being scum.I mean, i said it previously, but me "defending" this angle of the story is very very rare for me, and it mostly come from the fact OG hero is the center of MC attention, each time Hero come in the picture, MC just hyper focus on him in a very weird way, there is no other character who get this treatment, even the women MC grown close to...
Tbf, idc if there is a genderbent thing that happen, half that sentiment is born of my hatred for MC action, Hero doesnt deserve what happen to him in the first arc, and what will happen to him in this arc too. I just want Hero to be happy in one way or another even if it mean him getting the genderbent treatment
He decided to run away from it all, and now he has an opportunity to fix things, but because of the antagonist of this arc the situation is muddy. I completely understand your feelings of hatred toward the MC. I'm neither for nor against the Hero being happy at the end of this arc as long as the conclusion is well written, and as long as best girl Forde comes out the other side alright.
