Minor issue, but the translation note on page 16 is mistaken. The Shouwa Era lasted from 1926 to 1989, corresponding to the reign of Emperor Shouwa (more commonly known in the west by his birth name Hirohito). To be fair, the 1950s is when the post-WW2 US occupation of Japan ended, and that part of the Shouwa Era was very different from its first ~20 years.

I actually feel like he would have got mad about Mania - either for it having too many modern sensibilities and things not possible on the Megadrive, or because it's in a way an ascended fangame rather than something SEGA developed in-house, and so in either case he gets mad that it's just pretending to be something from SEGA's Glory Days rather than being a true SEGA game...

But then he'd probably still have fun with it anyway, wouldn't he

• This is actually fascinating console trivia. Downloadable games that early?! Noe Sega is (re)making a console?!! I'm starting to think this manga had something to do with the latter.
• I don't care too much if it comes in physical or not, but I would like the option to because there's 100% no guarantee the digital shops will open after the console's lifespan is over (e.g. Wii Shop). And Nintendo in particular has been known to have minimal support for old games while also being anti-emulator.
