edit: Went back to chapter one and was pondering, where is the rest of uncle's family? His sister (Takafumi's mother) didn't want to see him wake up, neither did his parents showed up, even if they did thought uncle was crazy because of the report made by the hospital staff they never showed up until now. Maybe they did or the author doesn't think it's necessary since this is practically a gag manga, but it's way too fucked up to do uncle this dirty

Everyone had practically disowned Uncle, because before his accident he was a Otaku (which his family didn't like).
It also seems that he was bad academically and we know that he was weak physically and had below average looks, so they considered him as a useless baggage.
The accident and the coma also made him an excess baggage for his family as they had to pay the medical bills and other stuff, which they were legally forced to do (since he was a minor then), which made situation go much worse.
Practically, his whole family is broken-up and no one cares about the other.

it's seems that they really just given up him. Even after he wake up they didn't care and they did see him just a "dead weight"
