EXACTLY what I was thinking!Writing about the other characters in the story is great and all, but it seems that the FMC is getting sidelined more and more.
FMC is a secondary character. Reina here is getting focus because of how it leads into Asuta's continuation of his plan and teachings. Don't read this expecting a lot of romance stuff.Writing about the other characters in the story is great and all, but it seems that the FMC is getting sidelined more and more.
I get what you mean, since ultimately this is a cooking isekai. But, the way that the relationship between Asuta and FMC was presented in the earlier chapters, there was enough screentime for the FMC.FMC is a secondary character. She is at that Special Age where Boys are both Scary and Interesting, and....I can't tell if she treats him coldly because he is who he is or because her sister had shown him respect before her

Or she's just being a jealous bitch... Pick your poison..
comparing this to My Dress Up Darling makes this comment looks funnier to me. why? because that is the point: the romance has always been side story from the start. the romance has never been a main theme. so why complain now? This is starting to look like My dress up darling, it's all about cosplay and all but the love part between the two MCs feels like thrown to the sidelines, specially when there are already tons of chapters without a single development or improvement in their relationship (and I mean that and this manga).
Part of that is to get eyes on the story (unfortunately) and part of that is because she was so important in the opening chapters of the story, since he'd have been screwed otherwise, when he had no foundation. Now that he does, her importance in this particular part of the story is minimal, since she is a hunter and rarely at home otherwise. It does get better later, when it actually is incorporated into a plot point, but it makes perfect sense that she doesn't have much to do here at all. She is not a deuteragonist, but a supporting character.I get what you mean, since ultimately this is a cooking isekai. I mean, she's not shown enough, just give us a glimpse of her from time to time. She's in the cover of the god damn Manga for crying out loud.
You know, I just thought about it, why does every isekai cooking manga have to bring us back to Japanese stuff? I know the mangas are written by Japanese people, so it does make sense in this way, but it's another world. Couldn't they show off more of that "other world" cuisine? Or are the mangakas lacking imagination? 🤔TBH I'm pretty tired of "japanese food best food soy sauce where" so I'm perfectly fine with less MC.
To cut the authors some slack, yeah its pretty hard to imagine food that doesn't exist, from cultures that doesn't exist. Not that it can't be done, but you would actually need a pretty good understanding of how food and culture affect each other to make up something that makes sense. You know, I just thought about it, why does every isekai cooking manga have to bring us back to Japanese stuff? The romance is the primary point of my dress up darling tho lol. Or at least was. It has the word “darling” in its name for a reason.comparing this to My Dress Up Darling makes this comment looks funnier to me. why? because that is the point: the romance has always been side story from the start. the romance has never been a main theme. so why complain now?
