The novel goes into a bit more detail on how the author tailor fits this world around the MC.

Gatherer tribe exiled by natural disaster to a feudal land where they are put to work hunting Giba to keep their numbers down so they don't devastate the farmlands.

They're only allowed to pick what the Giba eat and trade for the rest. In this novel, they only eat a few plants (and farm crops). On Earth, Boars eat nearly anything they can fit in their mouths.

Giba meat smells because they don't bleed out the animal. I'm pretty sure that's something any hunter/butcher/cook knows except for isekai people.

@kenkagejack A lot of primitive people never made the connection between blood in the meat and funky flavors. Hell, a lot of modern hunters haven't either. That gamey taste you get in venison and other game meats is mostly due to blood left in the meat.

Wild boars on earth have a robust and efficient toxin filtration system. They can eat almost anything because their liver and kidneys can dump all sorts of poisonous compounds out of the blood and their digestive tract is a literal garbage disposal. Eating pig liver can expose you to a not insignificant amount of toxic chemicals.

I have to wonder where the Giba Eaters are getting their salt. Sodium deficiency is a death sentence.

it’s fine to look at a naked married woman?

Yeah, if she’s your wife you dumbass lmao
A fair amount of porn actresses are married.

RE: Isekai people, especially people in basic survival situations always seem to be barely hanging on and lack simple knowledge that even indigenous luddite cultures like the Amazonian Kayapo have a more advanced understanding on how to survive and thrive.

Isekai people of all levels of technology, from tribal nomads to cathedral-builders all seem to lack knowledge on how to make soap, maintain hygiene, use salt, spice their food, bake bread, navigate, woodcraft, be literate, engage in entertainment activities etc, etc to make the Japanese Savior look better. It's honestly no better than the White Savior trope

"We can only eat what giba eat"

...Okay, let's examine this policy.
Giba don't eat this one common plant, at least according to their tribe.
...But chances are if a giba kills a human, it's going to fucking eat them.

So by that logic... Eating people is just fine.
Sounds like the Bosmer Green Pact from The Elder Scrolls to me.
