i understand a cooking manga has to derive the drama from somewhere, but i wish this motherfucker cooked real burger patties for once in his fucking life.

He basically is. You could be super pedantic to say that hamburg steak (or the usually more well known western variant, salisbury steak) is closer to meatloaf or meatballs than a hamburger patty, but fundamentally it's pretty much the same thing: a pressed and shaped round of ground meat that's grilled or fried.

His versions here might actually even be closer to hamburger patties because I don't remember if any of the times we've seen the "recipe" have shown him adding eggs or breadcrumb equivalents to it. If it's just meat and maybe some vegetables like onion then it really is just a burger patty with a different name.

I was thinking the other women were alienating her. Glad to see it's not the case...at least here.

Isekai worlds aren't always going to have the same names for things as we do.
Yes, but we the reader are reading in english and its rather pointless for the author to rename basic items. Adds nothing to the story and just makes it confusing for the reader if they say "i want 2 gagaboo" in stead of just a normal "i want 2 burgers", and nobody is going to remember those names either.

I would ask you to stop projecting your laziness on other readers, but I doubt you would. And frankly, yes it adds to the story - it shows that despite similarities, there's always the reminder that it's a different world with its own culture and differences.

Tell me you've never read a fantasy novel in English, without telling me you've never read any English fantasy novels.

Especially when something will look similar, but tastes completely different.

It would not be a problem, if they were different vegetables with different properties, instead we got not-pork with not-onions seasoned with not-soy sauce: if they are onions in everything but the name, MC (and we as well) should just get the name translated by whatever mcGuffin allows him to understand the locals...
