I'm not exactly a fan of the trope of characters that cannot fucking talk their minds.
I think that the author wrote himself into a corner, as the protagonist can fix the misunderstanding by being honest/ having a lil bit of communication skill, but the autor seem to be focused on having him leaving the guild as a key point for the plot

I'm enjoying the manga, thanks for the translation and bringing us the uncensored version

I just don't get why he thinks quitting the guild is a good idea for anyone
Well, part of it is probably the sheer amount of deaths his guildmates experienced because of the ring of resurrection he gave them and how they thought he wanted them to use it; then there's also how he doesn't think he should be leader since, as far as he's concerned, every one of them is stronger than him and he just doesn't think being a leader fits him. Add in his stigma about his actual face and how those around him would react to it, how their perspective of him might change, he's under a lot of background pressure and thinks it might be good for everyone if he stepped away.

All this to say it doesn't NOT make sense to me.

It's hard to look at that poor, crying face and think of leaving. But then you remember that each and every one of them are batshit insane professional pumpkin carvers (the pumpkins are people). Smile, pat her on the head, then jump in the ocean and swim to the next continent!
