I get what y'all are saying, but her acomplishments back in Edo Japan don't go beyond a slightly exagerated reality, she was the best and fastest swordswoman around and beat many in duels and survived Sekigahara by chance because she got knocked out.

Decapitating a giant 3 headed snake, dicing up orks thrice the size of a human, bisecting an entire pile of imps is NOT within the realm of slightly exagerated historical fiction. That's fantasy superstrength. Her mentality and experience definitely gives her a big edge, but she also is clearly beyond human physicality. I mean she survived without a scratch when the dragon dropped her!

I really love the panels of her interacting with those that she has cut down in her past life, it feels real, I'm not one to romanticize death in battle, Dulce et Decorum Est and all, but she lost her place and her purpose, and I think lots of us can sympathize

i'd be sad if the end goal of this manga is her death in battle, but i don't think anyone's capable of changing her mindset.
Do your best and best of luck, samurai girl.
Well, as long as her goal remains the same then the series is more or less immune to an unsatisfying axe at least. It gets axed, she gets killed in battle. Happy? End.

Little girl, sell that grimoire, use the money to buy yourself a good sword.
Then die on a battlefield somewhere.

the quote from the goddess that the bookseller was reading was a parody of the Bible from Matthew 5:38-48: “But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.”

She was a terror in her old world, too. That was her problem, she couldn't find anything that could kill her in battle, which is the only thing she wants to do. That's why Buddha sent her here.

We get a big clue in this chapter, too. Heroes have only ever fought monsters, and thus have some reservations about violence. She, on the other hand, is totally broken; we get to see her hugging the decapitated head of someone she killed because he said that she'll get to die in battle one day, too. It re-enforces something we've seen since chapter 1: she reacts to violence and battle with a deeply unsettling glee, so she's been catching everyone off guard because of it. The imps held the dwarf hostage, and she called their bluff because of her totally insane worldview where the best thing for him to do is die since he got captured.

It's an interesting twist on the usual isekai value mismatch, where more egalitarian and modern views on the value of life and people give the MC the ability to solve problems that the world can't. Instead, her totally insane desire to die fighting and the belief that everyone's trying to do that makes her unpredictable and dangerous in a way the monsters of the world have a hard time dealing with.
It wasn't really a bluff she called, and on that point I think the translation could use a bit of refining: She genuinely believes it would be better for the Dwarf dude to be killed by his enemies than have to live with the shame of having lost a battle. The Imps were perfectly willing to do it,too, they just never got the chance.

Please.. Don't let it be another generic manga where Protagonist is being used by someone else, abandoning her entire previous character <_<.. Kinda hope to see her clash with Hero's AND Demons looking at her previous actions that seems like the logical outcome, but doubt author actually commits..

Why would you give a homeless kid an obviously expensive book that can't even be hidden behind the child's back, expecting them to learn magic from the book without getting people killed ?
Yeah, stupid bleeding heart florist! Our samurai gal should've taken him/her in as a disciple!
