How do you miss with a scoped rifle while prone at that distance? Unless it is horribly sighted or you are unstable, should hit fairly close to the cross hair. May hit a bit higher if it is sighted for long distance, but I'm assuming he was aiming towards the center (head or chest) and not the leg hitting the shoulder (shouldn't be that much of a difference this close if set for a farther range.)

Dude, you shot the golem in what would be the shoulder area of a human being. You didn't miss, and there's no reason to assume blowing a chunk out of the golem's "head" will stop it either.

It's a stone golem. It doesn't have a brain, or really any discernible anatomy to speak of. It would be better to take chunks out of its knees to stop it from walking and out of its arms to make them no longer functional, than go for a headshot that might not do anything at all.

There's also the possibility of the Golem being powered by a Magic Stone and/or Inscription inside, so yeah blowing it up might be better.

If only you can get an M2 Browning .50cal (1:1 model or airsoft), he won't even need to aim and it's sure to take him down in just one squeeze.
But yeah that Barrett is pretty much what I was waiting for. I just remembered High School of the Dead, it mentioned that you can even get your own high caliber guns, by buying the parts separately via ebay or other online means. Buying the parts are not illegal, only when you put it together will it get you in trouble.
