That much is true, a few scanlation groups have been hoarding series and drip feeding releases of those. Not that they're obligated to release them on a schedule or something, but sometimes there are other groups willing to take up on some of those series and they don't because it's not proper etiquette to do so, which leads to a situation where a series stays without a new chapter for months, and very behind the raws. Those complaining about snipes should understand that it would not be an issue if groups hoarding series (and drip feeding releases) was not a thing, and it's mainly the 'for profit' groups that usually have a patreon or similar who do hoard series in the first place. Not that they can't do it, just they should handle the whole thing better in the first place and drop the series they don't find to be worth scanlating.
