So basically hero qualities gives him really bad luck and makes it very likely for him to be drawn into very Troublesome situations and he thought to offset it with great luck which gives you good luck in everything but gives you really bad luck when it comes to finances. The problem is that hero qualities affects everyone around him as well so he has the good luck to escape the Troublesome situations unharmed but everyone else around him constantly has to deal with the consequences. The right choice is to ditch him because only he can easily survive the trouble he brings.

WTF, the manga changes the story so fcking much... :shamihuh:

The manga omits Tomi????? WTF, WTF, WTF!?!?!? :notlikethis:

giphy.gif

(Backup link, if the GIF would not load.)

I should have seen this coming, when every time the trio brought equipment was only depicted in a very few panels without any conversation, thus already omitting they interactions with Gantz-san, the blacksmith...

In the LN they did not met this wanabe hero Hashimoto, but Tomi.

I'm also disappointed about the change about the road, about they journey between towns.

In the LN they did not see the town(wall) immediately (as in manga chapter 2), they saw a road, which they reached after a 10 minute walk. It was at the road when Nao climbed on the shoulder of Touya, and saw a wall.
Why is this detail important? Because that is the well maintained road between Laffan and Saalstadt (in official translations: Sarstedt)! If they would have not seen the town wall, and would decided to follow the road on the opposite direction, they would have started in Sarstedt.
This chapter weirdly depict they journey between towns as a forced tracking thru the forest.

In the LN they follow the road, expecting to arrive the same day. Then they decide to temporally leave the road, to harvest some dindels for Natsuki and Yuki, while trying out they recently brought new weapons. While going back to the road they encounter "a person collapsed on the ground". They initially thought that they found a corpse, only to realize its a collapsed dwarf, who turned out to be one of they classmates, Yutaka Wakabayashi. They did not recognize him, but he recognized them. On the advice of the main trio he takes on the name Tomi.

He told, that he spawned together with Tanaka-kun and Takahashi-kun. While exiting the forest they stumbled upon a carriage being attacked by bandits. Tomi did hide, while the other two were dumb enough to jump into the fray. Our main trio speculates, that:

Tanaka probably had the Heroic Aptitude skill
(Mostly because they encountered bandits on a road usually not frequented by bandits.)
LN quote: "Tanaka’s reckless action (jumping into combat against multiple enemies) was unrelated to luck, but perhaps he’d thought that he was the hero of a story or something."

He attacked a bandit with "a wooden branch that he’d picked up in the forest", only to be instantly killed by 3 other bandit.

Takahashi, probably had Mana Capacity: Ultimate skill
He did try to cast a spell, but it failed in a huge explosion, which swallowed up everybody, except for Tomi.

As I already mentioned, Tomi is a dwarf, his skills are:
  • Craft Aptitude: Blacksmithing
  • Level 3 Blacksmithing
  • Level 3 Robust
  • Level 2 Enhanced Muscles
  • Level 2 Indomitable
  • Level 2 Appraisal
  • Drunkard
As he had not the Help Guide skill, the main trio warned him about Drunkard.
(Imho: He should have taken Poison Resistance to counter it.)

LN quote about dwarfs: "Choosing the Dwarf race would make me short and stout and give me a thick beard."

Tomi wanted to LARP as a typical dwarf blacksmith.

The main trio escorts him to the road (took only a few minutes), and tell him to go to Laffan, and they tell him about they inn. Tomi ask if he could join they party, but he got refused: He neither has any combat oriented skills, neither was he a close friend in they original world.

Tomi would have later join Gantz-san as a blacksmith apprentice, and make a lot of equipment on order for the main group. He does not join the party, but they interact with each other rather frequent on a friendly term.

TL;DR: The manga omits both of the main blacksmiths in the story.

In the LN they did not meet Yuki and Natsuki in the forest, but in the city of Sarstedt, at they workplace.
It doesn't even makes sense for the two to leave town!!!!

Heroic Aptitude (80 Points required)

Grants you the innate aptitude to become a Hero through training and effort.

(Your chances of getting involved in trouble are increased, and you will often end up in life-threatening situations.)
Mana Capacity: Ultimate (80 Points required)

Grants you an overwhelming amount of mana.

(Your physical strength and endurance will be greatly reduced. Controlling your mana will also become very difficult.)
Drunkard (5 Points required)

You will find it difficult to become drunk.

(This doesn’t affect the properties of the alcohol that you consume, so the effects of alcohol on your body remain the same. In fact, it’s possible that you won’t know when to stop because of this trait, so be careful of alcoholism and alcohol poisoning.)
