Because it's the "one vs many" rule, no matter how strong you are there is an eventual point where sheer numbers will be able to take you down. Plus you'll have to stay on guard 24/7, while you're eating/sleeping/taking a shit/jerking off/etc. which will wear you down mentally until your go insane (which leaves you vulnerable) or commit suicide.I really don't understand why Minato or any main characters in a story want to hide their power level so much. It would clear up a lot of misunderstandings if they just tell people the truth. Not like anyone can force a op MC to do something they don't want to do.
He isn't really hiding his power. He just isn't show it off. He did just used powerful magic to remove the cuffs in front of the guild member and he also used earth magic to dig a big tunnel. It's also suspicious how powerful he is because in that world, as said, magicians are usually support not attackers.I really don't understand why Minato or any main characters in a story want to hide their power level so much. ...Yeah, I don't think it will go THAT far. And I'm not saying to show off to everyone, just those that he can trust.Because it's the "one vs many" rule, no matter how strong you are there is an eventual point where sheer numbers will be able to take you down. If Minato doesn't want to show off then he's really doing a poor job of it. Might as well tell the guild at least that he knows how to improve the magical circuitsHe isn't really hiding his power. true. doesn't matter how "dangerous and suspicious" they think the mc is, it doesn't justify this bs charadethis is some bullshit, they arrest him, steal his shit, threaten him and we're just suppose to sweep it under the rug "tehe i'm quirky, i actually did it for your sake" MC stop being a doormat and let there be some consequences for this treatment, you just saved their city and all their lives and this is the reward you get...
Some cultures are implicitly trusting of authority. For example, the Swedish Board of Film Censorship banned under-11s from viewing ET because it, and I quote, "portrays adults as enemies of children", Norway banned the film for under-12s, and Finland banned the movie for under-8s.Like what?
This doesn't really apply to this story because of what everyone's already said but for other stories, the mc being op is contingent on the mc hiding their power. Being open about their abilities would get them in situations that their powers either don't actually solve or they are merely a match for. If it was actually known how strong an mc is then the people who come to challenge them would be appropriately strong/prepared rather than some random cocky dude. At that point, they aren't op anymore and we have a story with actual stakes and conflict.I really don't understand why Minato or any main characters in a story want to hide their power level so much. you do realize at the time of his arrest they had circumstantial evidence that he was a member of the terrorist group that had JUST A FEW HOURS AGO tried to destroy the city right? Sure they doubted it, but with his level of power its better to take action first and then ask for forgiveness once the truth comes out.this is some bullshit, they arrest him, steal his shit, threaten him and we're just suppose to sweep it under the rug "tehe i'm quirky, i actually did it for your sake" MC stop being a doormat and let there be some consequences for this treatment, you just saved their city and all their lives and this is the reward you get...
Rather than doormat, MC is someone that don't want to hassle and de-escalate the situation if possible.this is some bullshit, they arrest him, steal his shit, threaten him and we're just suppose to sweep it under the rug "tehe i'm quirky, i actually did it for your sake" MC stop being a doormat and let there be some consequences for this treatment, you just saved their city and all their lives and this is the reward you get.
Let's talk about it in a more mundane way. You are an employee at a company. News come out that you're very capable. What do you think will happen next?...Yeah, I don't think it will go THAT far. And I'm not saying to show off to everyone, just those that he can trust.

and you do realize he was single handedly responsible for saving the people of the previous city and responsible for STOPPING the monster horde and saving this city. he deserves better then being put in jail for being a hero to these peopleyou do realize at the time of his arrest they had circumstantial evidence that he was a member of the terrorist group that had JUST A FEW HOURS AGO tried to destroy the city right?
