Seems 1.1 lays some decent groundwork for this series. The author sacrifices some believable plot and characterizations in order to set up their rules and world, but with some strong chapters this gamble could pay off.
It's good that Mr. Protag already knows of a magic system and got a glimpse into fully developed offensive spells. It's like a computer programmer learning a new language that follows similar rules to something they already know. Just a few substitutions and proper arrangements before you're off and running; no need to start from zero and reinvent the wheel. It'd be much better if MC is able to properly explain why some magic circles are inefficient or inferior in future chapters.

And I can believe he'd be able to find an info terminal right away if the story reveals that the video game from the dude's original world was a recruitment test and he was judged good enough at it to be chosen for a kiss from truck-kun. Could be that a welcoming party started recruiting in the forest with the terminal, but then was attacked by beasts and they had to abandon the device but it was still working while the party either died or couldn't find it again. And X time later, you get a new unexpected visitor in the forest.

@MightyT He wasn't nerfed because of religion, he was nerfed because his magic relies on astrology, but since he's in another world there are different stars and different star positions.
