@Kaarme I heard ( from various otome isekai comment threads) that villainesses aren't really common in otome games and that it's actually a trope from shoujo manga. I also recently heard that there were villainesses in old otome games but they fell out of popularity.
@SakuraShower Oh. Thanks for the info! Seem like I was totally fooled by the various manga series into believing it's a common thing to have such an adversary. I have played a bunch of male audience targeted dating sims (and other VNs), and I have to say lovel rival characters are extremely scarce there, so in that sense I shouldn't be surprised. But I didn't want to assume the two games are too similar, with just the gender roles reversed.
The captain warning him about not giving away information so freely was a complete bro move, why'd he get so upset? Altho the mood swings being more "feminine" is... shockingly accurate.
@sylvacoer i'd say it's because of how he did it, it'd feel like they're playing around with you or teasing you so to some people it'd piss them off, especially since MC seems like a very straight-forward "doesn't want to mess with nonsense" dude
